Nimbus Farm Alpacas offers a variety of educational, hands-on, informative tours, classes, activities and workshops for all ages! We will be posting classes and taking registrations as they are developed and scheduled throughout the year.
Private and group classes available between 10:00am-2:00pm by appointment only.
Class materials will be provided and extra materials will be available for purchase at the farm, or you are welcome to bring your own.

Class List
FELTED SOAP
Level: Beginner.
Class time: 2-hour session.
In this class you will learn how to hand wrap and felt with alpaca fiber to create a unique and interesting design on 2 bars of soap! The alpaca fiber provides a very gentle exfoliant and the covering around the soap helps prolong the life of the bar of soap. In addition, the fiber has natural antibacterial qualities that help keep it bacteria and mildew free. Alpaca fiber is also hypoallergenic so it’s great for anyone with sensitive skin. At the end of its use, you are left with a felted cleansing cloth.
Each bar is approx. 3.4 oz of All natural soap, no synthetic fragrances, additives or preservatives.

DRYER BALLS
Level: Beginner.
Class time: 2-hour session.
In this class you will learn how to wet felt alpaca dryer balls. At the end of class you will be taking home 3 of your own! Dryer balls are an inexpensive and reusable Eco-Friendly alternative to dryer sheets. They not only soften your laundry, reduce static, and help eliminate wrinkles, but also save you time and energy by cutting your drying time by 25%. Our dryer balls are handcrafted and use 100% Alpaca fiber, making them hypoallergenic! BEGINNING CROCHET
Level: Beginner.
Class time: 3-hours.
In this class you will learn how to create a beginner crochet project from beginning to end. While in class you will learn popular crochet stitches – single and double, how to create consistent stitches, and how to finish a project by securely weaving in your ends. Also taught in this class will be how to read crochet patterns.
Required materials: Size i-9 hook and medium weight (#4) yarn in a light, solid color. Materials will be available for purchase at the farm but you are welcome to bring your own.

FIBER PROCESSING CLASS
Level: N/A.
Class time: 2-hours.
In this class you will learn how to process alpaca fiber from start to finish. Follow the journey from raw fleece – to clean, skirted, carded roving and you will also see a variety of possible end products. Meet and greet with the alpacas that grew the fleece, and get an appreciation for the work that goes in to processing fiber.
